Andrew asks about his mental state and states that Kim doesn’t agree with some of the over the top things that are said about him. Lloyd states that it is interesting that Kim is saying that now, but it’s a little bit too late after she has put this all into motion. Says he wont talk too much about Kim because he is “litigating against her”. Says exJWs carry immense emotional baggage, hang-ups and taboos regarding sex with no shortage of judgmentalism. Blames Kim for hurling accusations which as a result have snowballed into something else.

“What Kim Silvio did was so invasive, Andrew, I’ve said at the time I can’t imagine feeling that much different if someone came into my home and burgled me and gunpoint and rifled through my possessions. Keeps mentioning Kim Silvio by name ever after he said he wouldn’t mention her because of the litigation. Keeps saying it was invasive and goes on a rant. Says that directly led to false allegations of Patreon funds being misused and being involved in sex trafficking. “It’s hard enough dealing with the true stuff, but layer on all the defamation, insinuation and all of the lies”.

“It really has pushed me over the brink”. Says the only thing that is keeping him going in activism is that he hates to see bullies win and it’s clear he has support from the remaining patrons and people giving positive comments on the channel. Says he has spoken to other content creators and it has left them “shellshocked”. Says this entire debacle has driven some content creators to retire but doesn’t specify if they are exJW or otherwise.

“Once the mob decided you need to be destroyed, you get torn to pieces and there’s no recourse or some kind of independent arbiter on YT”. The internet is forever, mentioned his kids who at 3 and 7, and at some point in the future they are going to have to deal with all of this. All he can do right now is hire lawyers and hold the people who are doing this over the next few years accountable so he can point this out his children as being vindicated. All this boils down to is a “lack of kindness and a lack of basic human empathy and compassion”.

Andre asks that since Lloyd is on the progressive side of things politically, has this “bullying” given him a new insight into cancel culture? Lloyd says he has always had a nuanced view of cancel culture, he’s against a mob of unknown and unaccountable individuals floating all this information on Twitter and deciding to destroy people. He’s very much about principles, social justice and equality and if that makes him woke, fair enough. Almost anything can be weaponised and taken to an extreme and this applies to woke culture as well. Feels that woke and cancel culture are generally good and seek to provide kindness, but then circles back to Kim taking things to extremes.

Says he is taking things day-to-day and is in a better places than he was 1-2 weeks ago and the anti-depressants are helping. Turned a corner now that the medication is starting to have an effect. Says that he still has enough money to maintain operations and pay Tibor. The big issue now is sorting out his own mental health and the issues within his family. Says his attempts to reconcile with his wife has been stunted due to all this controversy. As for his marriage, it’s too early to tell for him as to what this will result in but feels that he has already hit rock bottom so there is hope.

Lloyd says he’s like to make a few more videos as he still has something to say, but would like to be in “glorious isolation” like Luke was in the new Star Wars trilogy on the remote island. Says he would just like to write books because he’s a writer. He’s like to have a boat and go fishing at weekends and being with his family. Stresses how hard this has been on all of them, including the children. Says he is sure Jessica (he names her) will have memories from this period. Again brings up Ukraine and seeing hospitals being bombed, and says it’s not as bad as that. Says he drove to the Hungary-Ukraine border to pick up refugees.

Andrew concludes that he knows there are people listening to this that are out to get Lloyd, and to think about the human factor and how his family is suffering. Be careful of what you write on Twitter, think about that anger and what it will achieve.

Nobody can say Lloyd spent his Patreon money on this and that, and then goes into the revenue for two books he published. “This is simply a lie” (very forceful and animated). “Lies do a lot of damage and I’ve lost well over 200 Patrons”. Andrew presses him for how much money he lost, Lloyd responds that as Andrew knows, it takes a long time to build up Patrons and he has been knocked back over 12 months in this regard. Says this drop has accounted for more than Tibor’s wages in lost pledges. Complains that in his Patreon pledge exit surveys most informed him that they were discontinuing support because they felt their donations were going to sex workers. Claims his lost Patrons “bought into this” and that the damage has been done. (Sounds very irritated and frustrated when discussing his lost Patrons). Regrets that he cannot take it up with lost Patrons and tell them how wrong they were and wouldn’t they like to pledge again?

Andrew agrees that it muddies the water as to what money is spent on what when you rely on donations and is sympathetic to his plight on Patreon. However Andrew does make the point that Lloyd’s patrons simply felt that their morals don’t mesh with his and as a result, Lloyd is a victim of what he termed earlier as “consequence culture’. Lloyd responds that he did do something wrong, but only that it was against his wife. Says that Patrons should have asked him upfront if he was a perfect person before pledging and he would have told them no, and they should have made their decision based on that. Lloyd then stresses that the majority of his Patrons have stayed and a few have joined precisely because of the abuse he was experiencing.

Again with the “flawed individual” label. Says just because he is a flawed individual, doesn’t negate his criticisms of WT. To suggest that Lloyd is compromised by his actions, “we are entering bullying territory”. “We’re talking about a group of people who just want to see someone burn and that’s a really toxic attitude to be cultivating”.

Andrew again presses him on an apology, Says that whilst him and Lloyd don’t personally see a problem with frequenting sex workers, some of Lloyd’s supporters obviously do. Lloyd responds that he hasn’t said there was an issue with sex workers and there is a conversation to be had with that, but does not accept the premise that because he had contact with sex workers that he can no longer comment about CSA abuses and that it compromised him. “I struggle with that line of reasoning”.

Andrew gives an analogy that if someone who worked for a charity that advocates for sex abuse and sex trafficking were to be found to be involved with sex workers, this might create a compromised situation. Lloyd deflects and says if people want to draw parallels between an organization what has a database of sex offenders it wont give up and someone who frequents sex workers , they are free to do so but most people can see the difference. He avoided the question with a false analogy. Again with the “consenting adults” vs “children being raped”. “For me, the difference is night and day”.

Again complains how when you type in his name in the YT search bar that all these videos about him child grooming, sex trafficking etc pop up. Andrew admonishes the audience “with knives out” to “remember the human being in all this”.

Evans: Be kind and hold people accountable when they abuse their authority and platform, covering up crime, driving people to suicide, etc – In other words, hold WT accountable and not him because his crimes were a lot lesser and none of your business anyway.

Beings up the litigation, says it wasn’t something he undertook lightly. Says he is suing only in the name of future activists who will take up the mantle after he is gone so they are not discouraged from activism. Says there needs to be consequences for the bullying. Claims YouTube should be doing more so he wouldn’t have to bring in lawyers. Says his 10 years worth of work is under attack and it came at the expense of time taken away from being with his kids. Really goes after YouTubers who make videos about him, again saying he doesn’t handle bullies very well.

Andrew affirms his loyalty to Lloyd, saying he was there for him when he was first starting out and was his fist Patron. He thanks Lloyd for his support and for the support he has provided other content creators. Andrew does say he is torn about this, and thinks he probably should apologize.

Andrew finally gets to a direct question – What compelled you to reveal all this to Kim and Producer Bob? Lloyd laughs and says he asks himself that constantly. Says he regrets doing it and misjudged. Felt he could trust them and felt they needed to know why he was taking a break. Kim and Bob were incredibly supportive and even argued over whose home Lloyd could come and stay at. Says his trust in human beings in general and particularly exJWs has been completely annihilated”. Says he will struggle from this point on to collaborate with other exJWs. He expresses sadness at this because of the incredible work he could be doing with others in the future is now not a possibility.

Andrew suggests people might have daggers out for him due to jealousy or simply tired of him personally. Compares Lloyd to David Beckham and how hugely popular he got and how people wanted to knock him down. Then suggests that Kim and Bob had an opportunity to think further about what Lloyd told them and felt they had a responsibility to get the information out to his Patrons.

Lloyd says he understands people can change their minds, but said he would have been upfront about it. Completely ignore Andrew’s point about how they might have changed their minds over time. Again waxes on about how supportive Kim and Bob were to him and how they should have quit on the spot if they had a problem with it. Says Kim is a liar.

Lloyd thanks Andrew for bringing up Patreon. Starts into saying he wasn’t using Patreon funds for this. Says he regrets some comments on his live stream, referring to the comments about doctors having to account for their wages. Agrees with the premise of that his wages were his business and “no one should go chasing after you” for receipts. Says he always has taken his Patreon pledges very seriously. Doubles down on his claim that excess Patreon funds are always being churned back into the channel. For two months in 2021, the Google ad revenue was actually more than the Patreon revenue. So in 2021 the Google ad revenue was his most substantial source of income, yet he contradicts this by saying it was only that way for two months. There are 10 more months, shouldn’t Patreon be more than the Google ad revenue?

People have raced to conclusions based on the fact he went to Thailand. Claims based on the likes on his videos that the majority of exJWs believe him and that he is entitled to a private life and this has been violated. Says a minority on Twitter are raising up a frenzy and it only appears that most are against him but it is not the case. The line has been crossed and it is no longer whistleblower and has turned into bullying.

Brings up accusations of child grooming, wife beating, people calling social services to take his children away. Says people are bullying him and Andrew claims he’s a victim of cancel culture. Lloyd doesn’t like that term and calls it “consequence culture” When you do wrong things there should be consequences. Andrew asks if he thinks he did anything wrong. Lloyd replies that he was unfaithful to his wife and that is the extent of it. It’s an issue between him and his wife, and blames others for making it so difficult to navigate these problems with his with due to the defamation, bullying and the “Twitter witch hunt”. “I’ve never handled bullies well and it’s kind of the reason why I started my activism against JWs” He refuses to be bullied or allow these bullies to tell him he can no longer be an activist. Takes on a forceful tone when saying this.

Andrew brings up he thinks there are three groups, his supporters, his detractors and a middle group that is torn. Won’t Lloyd apologize for his actions to them if has stumbled them? Answers “I’ve only ever in my 42 years have had sex with consenting adults and that’s the end of the matter”. No apology. Says he is a flawed individual and leaves it at that. Says he understands why people might be disappointed in this, but notes that the same people were born into a culture of sexual repression and his infidelity with sex workers is extremely taboo to these people. He doesn’t owe any apology, in fact he takes apologies very seriously and those who know him well know that he apologizes quite frequently. If he apologizes to people as Andrew suggests, it weakens the apology he has given to his wife (which makes absolutely no sense). Again brings up that sex was between consenting adults.

Claims most people are with him, and the mob on Twitter wish to see him destitute on the street.

Andrew tries to press him that you can never be sure about the “consenting adults” part of it especially when it pertains to sex workers. Lloyd cuts him off, acknowledges there are huge problems with sex trafficking in Thailand but to jump to conclusions about what someone goes there for is racist. Says people are being condescending about the country and says he chose Thailand because he wanted to go to Asia for the first time. Thought it was exotic, wanted to experience the food, the scuba diving, the culture, etc. Says his decision to go had nothing to do with sex workers. Andrew tries to pin him down on the sex worker angle, again Lloyd cuts him off and said he had been frequenting sex workers in other countries before Thailand as if that were proof in itself he didn’t go there for that.

Says that when he went to Thailand, him and his wife were ”separated”. People forget that there’s a real person behind all this with a private life with children and real mental health problems. Strange tangent as he implies his wife and him were through and brings up him and his kids. Gets animated. Admits he had to start taking anti-depressants in the last few weeks as it has been so “overwhelming”. Says the tide is starting to turn in his favour and common sense is returning to the exJW community that this is a flawed individual, that’s all.

Kim Silvio: I'll save you from watching it and give you my notes here in several posts:

Andrew Gold starts off by saying he reached out to Lloyd shortly after the scandal broke and offered his support, agreeing with Lloyd he was being bullied. It was Lloyd’s idea to do he interview

Lloyd goes into his background and activism, repeating “I hate to talk myself up on this” when describing his accomplishments

Doesn’t give any details other than he had problems in his marriage due to his infidelities and he reached out to those closest to him (Kim and Bob) as a means to inform them and keep them apprised of what was going on. Says that was his cue to them to quit had they felt they couldn’t work with him because of these revelations. Instead they offered support and misled him.

Started the “meltdown group” and his confidence had gotten violated. Claims he was victimised by having to explain himself whilst he was dealing with these marital and mental health issues

Reiterates that he wasn’t looking for love, it was only sex workers. Andrew chimes in that a lot of people are unfaithful to their wives with sex workers. Andrew brings up that he was a leader in the movement and a CSA advocate, and this naturally brings up questions. Lloyd responds that he is not a leader, just a voice. “Words matter” and he has never claimed to be a leader or moral authority. Says he is an advocate for the cover-up of CSA. Using sex workers is a huge difference with CSA and has nothing to do with it.

Brings up Ukraine and how so many are suffering there and wishes he didn’t have to speak about his problems and focus on the atrocities there.

Says there is a difference between whistleblowing and bullying, and he is being shamed over his private life. He has done nothing wrong and people are trying to pin things on him. Says it’s unfortunately the reality for him with such a huge channel that people will try to destroy him.

Complains he has no protection against this bullying, people can go to YT and enter his name and find all sorts of lies about him. Andrew chimes in that they are trying to make a name for themselves and borrow off his fame.

Says this is incredibly stressful and challenging. Andrew agrees with this and says people are trying to punish him and knock him down. Agrees with Lloyd that sex workers and CSA are two different things entirely.

Compares himself to Spiderman, “with great power comes responsibility”. Goes after Joe Rogan and says his comments on COVID are irresponsible. He accepts the responsibility, but judge him on his words, not his actions. He’s entitled to a private life and this is no one else’s business. Andrew says “a lot of people would agree with you” but does press him on people can and do judge him by his actions. Andrew makes the point that sex workers could have been trafficked. Lloyd says it was between consenting adults and brushes this concern off. Andrew says it is a blurry line between this and presses further. Lloyd is a little rattled by this and gives this tidbit:

So Dijana was so freaked out by his disappearance she had to resort to calling people whom she barely knew. And Lloyd could not be bothered to give two fucks about it and only seemed to care when she finally stated she was getting a divorce. Even then he probably was more concerned about the financial aspects of the divorce, not of the damage he had done to his marriage.

I wonder if the channel that interviewed Lloyd would be willing to interview Kim Silvio to give the other side of the story

If Kim Silvio is interested in doing her own interview with Andrew Gold, I think this point should be pressed to him. In the comments already on the video link, Andrew has mentioned there were several facts he wasn't aware of before he made the video. Andrew had no idea Lloyd had asked his wife for an open relationship after being unfaithful in Texas, and after backing out of such an arrangement, directed his anger at Dijana and fled to Thailand.

That's a very important contextual piece of information to leave out, especially when Lloyd starts into his sexual repression schtick and how much he does love his wife.

He'll ask for blind trust and won't admit that they are in fact true comments.

This is a horrible idea for him to do this interview. He always has to have the "last word" and believes he has this special kind of "mic drop" reasoning that people will just gobble up in a Road to Damascus moment.

It's clear from the comments on this video that Andrew Gold is out for views and knows quite well this is a goldmine for his channel.

How Lloyd doesn't understand this is baffling. He said he hired a PR agent. They would be on the phone now begging Andrew Gold not to air this. This will not get Patrons to come back to him and in fact probably convince a few more of the seriousness of what he has done. Not to mention this starts up all sorts of Twitter threads, rebuttal YT videos, and keeps this thread going strong.

What a fool.

i remember one of the flowchart responses to people questioning the biblical flood was something along the lines that "every culture has a flood story".. of course, nearly everywhere has flooded at one time or another and we know there are minor floods and then there are the 1-in-1000 year kind of weather event, that tend to get a mention (anyone from the uk will still talk about the summer of '76, and that's probably nothing in comparison to a decent flood).. but the inference is that the flood must be real, because every culture has a flood story.. the best response is "now do dragons".. because apparently, nearly every culture also has a dragon legend.. does it mean dragons exist?

some desperate jw may show their ignorance by suggesting that man lived at the same time as dinosaurs and they are what the stories were based on.

fun fact: stegosaurus was a fossil when t-rex was alive for longer than it's been since t-rex has been a fossil to us - we're talking old, and no overlap (ignore the map in the cover of the old green bible).. do jws still even bother trying to defend the cray-cray aesop-fable kind of ot beliefs?.

Flood myths are likely retelling of events that felt to the locals that were on a global scale being that they had little idea of how big the planet is. It has been well researched how at one time the Black Sea basin was a lot lower than it is today with ancient beaches discovered deep under the sea. The theory is the sea broke through the Bosporus straits and flooded it until it reached the level of the sea. Babylon wasn't too far from this area and this was a major event that likely took many lives.
